I am buying a house and have the option to choose the boiler. The house has 4 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms and underfloor heating on the ground floor and will use a megaflow cylinder.

The developer was going to use a Potterton Promax SL, is this any good and if not which model would you recommend?

Thanks for any help!

Personally after the Potterton Suprima we swore we would never touch Potterton ever agin with a bargepole!

Promax's are far and away better than the suprimas. Don't let the suprima put u off Potts/baxi altogether, they are really gd blr's IMO

With a question like this you will get a dozen different answers.
The potterton is as good as any. They all break down 😀

Thanks for the replies.

I sure didn't expect a unanimous boiler suggestion but it seems a bit more confusing than I thought.

Searching on the web, I also found this very negative review on the Potterton Promax SL: Potterton Promax review

but I am not sure if it's the same model!

Any comments on this review or any other suggestions?

EDIT: well it turns out that the heat cylinder is a Range Tribune (250litres) and I can either have:

Potterton Promax SL 24

or the Vaillant EcoTec Plus 428e

Would most people recommend the Promax?
