I have conventional bath mixer taps with integral shower (water comes out from either the tap to fill the bath or shower hose) hot and cold are both fed from same header tank with hot going via indirect cylinder.

The header tank is just above the ceiling and flow is very poor.

My question is - can I break into the hot & cold supply to the bath mixer tap and fit a shower pump, would there be any problems with either the pump or the taps?

the pump won't last too long unless both taps are on full because of different flow from hot and cold to get required temp from shower. pumps are designed to run both sides together at same speed and flow.
