I have a britony boiler for my hot water only which is acting up. The pilot light went out last night so i moved both dials to off and went to fire it up again. This boiler has the pilot ignition on a dial rather than a button and it fired once but did not light. I returned the dial to off to try again but when attempting to turn the dial a second time it os locked in place.

does anyone have any ideas?

u need a gas technician to come sort it out, have a read of the forum rules.

I have no doubt about that, and i am not looking to resolve this myself for obvious reasons. What i am looking for is some one to give me some root causes of this problem? I have been stung by some so called gas technicians in the past so i like to know they are not laying it on thick.

After 18 hours the dial will now turn and has relighted. I am guessing there is a safety on these based on pressure, do you think this was the root cause ? Now it has relighted is it worth getting it investigated?

This plumbing forum will not provide advice to anybody with regards to boiler repairs or any other form of gas plumbing without you first providing us with your Gas Safe Registration number in a thread - for very obvious reasons. If you're not qualified to touch gas, you should stay well clear of trying to!

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks
