Dotty

Bloke at work had a cylinder implode on him today.

He actually shat hisself.

By all accounts it was creaking and groaning. He put his hand on it and it went.

Didn't help that he rang me only to be told "Ooo fk! Good luck explaining that one! (Click...... Brrrrrrrrrrrrr)"

Wow he did a proper job on that. On a friday too. On the bright side at least it will fit in the van nicely :)

Least he won't have to pull the insulation off to get more on scrap.
Like Steves comment blow it back up ..... brilliant

I reckon he will take it back to his merchant, saying "It was dark when it was delivered, and I signed for it without being able to check it, but now I notice it has a couple of little dings..." :)

Would be good to hear what he did wrong so that we don't make the same mistake!!

Maybe tried draining with no open ends,,,,

Must've been a blocked vent somewhere along the line.

got to be a sealed vent and a couple of floors of hose draining it down the suction does it
cylinderes very good at positive pressure not so good on negative
wonder if you can do the same with a submarine?

Yes of course you CAN.. As long as the pressure inside is significantly lower than outside its crumple stiltsskin.. Of course I doubt you would be draining down a sub.

He actually shat hisself.

He will now become a proud member of the ' Cylinder Implosion Club '

It's a global Club and has very strict guidelines.

Do it once - admitted.
Do it again - omitted.

There's another Club - not to many members though.

Cylinder Explosion Club -

I'd be wrapping the cyl with insulation, no one would notice if it dont leak :)

I have a plumber coming tomorrow to change a cartridge on a badly dripping tap on my bathroom mixer unit. There is no separate isolating valve for this tap so I'll have to close the stopcock. I tried closing it today but it won't go absolutely 100% closed and there is still a very slight flow...
