Hi guys, just a quicky. I've not been gas safe for very long and I went to price up a boiler swap today. The new boiler is going in a different position. On the exterior wall there is an openable window and door on either side of the proposed flue position. I know there must be a minimum of 300mm from the flue to the openeable door or window, but what part of the flue is this measured from, The edge of the flue, the centre of the flue or the outer edge of the internal flue?

Cheers guys
Mitchell

The outside edge of the flue unless the MI's state differently.

You can now fit certain flues closer to a openable window if you use a plumage kit, think worcester say 150mm ,some other manufacturers are the same

The distances mentioned are from nearest edge to nearest edge

If you went from center of flue ,the bigger the flue, the nearer to the openable window it would be

Cheers guys! I just wanted to know so I could allow for a plume kit in the estimate.

its against building regs to drill through wall/structure within the first 150mm from an opening so be careful not to measure the 150mm from the windows opening instead of the opening in the brickwork.

as mentioned many manufactures allow 150mm clearance if a plume kit is used to the MI.

Hi, basic question, any insight much appreciated. Looking to have an outdoor tap in my front porch fed from 15mm pex coming up from suspended floor. Pic 1 is inside porch, pex temporarily clipped to give an idea of pipe placement (ignore shoddy blockwork of booted cowboy builder!), Pic 2 is...
