Gas Pipe Squashed and Soldered

Don't know what the technical term for this is, but the 15mm pipe inside the meter box (tee'd off the 22mm pipe from the meter union) looks like it's been crushed at the end then soldered up rather than having an end cap fitted or the branch removed. Tightness tested all the pipework and only a .3mB drop with no smell of gas. Would you guys note this at all when you are doing a service of a Rayburn??

Is it a fitting though? Just playing devil's advocate here. The gas regs to me seem very wooly and open to interpretation! My thoughts were to see what happened on the tightness test and if it's ok then no issue?

just to check its a 15mm/22mm piece of pipe squashed and soldered up ? if so yes non approved termination / fitting and no needs putting right

When ever I've come across these on gas I just cut them off and stick a speed fit blank on :wink:

Naa that's the expensive way duct tape is your friend

Quicker to fix rather than do the paperwork.

It should technically be classed as ar but to be honest i'd either stick a cap on it or note it down and move on. I certainly wouldn't be shutting someone off for it. It has no more chance of leaking than any other soldered joint.
