If it is asbestos you are concerned over, get it tested. It doesn't cost much and it will not only give you peace of mind, it will also ensure you dispose of it correctly and will keep everyone safe.
thanks for taking time to view this i was hoping someone might recognize this, the fire basket appears to be attached to the boiler. removed 2 bolts either side front but the basket but will not move hence hoping it might get recognized and a method of removal.
From the photo it looks like a fire grate of some sort , caution should taken when it is removed is there a supply connected ?? It's hard to distinguish from the photos hoover out the grate if possible?. I removed a old gas one only this week . Kop
