Hi All

I have a Heatrae Sadia unvented cylinder... with the usual PVR on the side... which discharges to a tundish which is then connected to a 'fanny trap'.

The problem -
Water trickles through the tundish after about an hour or so of the hot water being heated and the pressure rises. It's only a trickle. To stop this - I have followed the instructions to re-charge the air at the top of the tank. This goes fine - as per instructions. Once air in tank is reset - the tundish trickle stops. Give it about 6 weeks... and its back.

Is this normal - should I have to re-charge the air bubble in the tank every 6 to 8 weeks ?

You need a G3 qualified engineer to work on it my friend. I’m guessing you are not one
 
Looks like your cylinder has developed a fault which might be permanent and can only be sorted by a new cylinder which would be too costly, or a different fix which a G3 plumber would hopefully recommend.
Either way, you need to get a qualified person to do the work.
Cannot say more than that obviously.

Thanks Best. I assumed there must some 'bigger' issue - as I just cant see its normal to have to keep re-charging the air in cylinder. My local plumbing firm have had countless attempt to 'solve' it - and £hundreds later I am still left with the problem. Thanks again.

Tim try find a local g3 specialist , it may be hard though , where are you based ?
 
tbh i would get the g3 engy to fit a new part and do away with the internal bubble as there too much hassle
