Horizontal cylinder

Evening all I'm going to do a horizontal cylinder next week and I've never done one before, just wondering if there was any thing other than the obvious that's different about them also where do you guys get them from ?

I just ask the merchants to order a special for me and let them do the legwork.

its 25yr since i fitted a horizntal cylinder ( the one and only) spec order can not remeber doing any thing diffrant to fitt it, it came in a specal cradel to keep it safe in the loft.

Cylinders are one of the few products that are still manufactured mostly in the UK. Most (all?) of the cylinder manufacturers do a custom build service. Do a drawing showing overall dimensions and where you want the tappings, and take it in to your local independent merchant. Get them to fax/scan the picture and send it off to the manufacturers for a quote. If you need it quickly, allow in your price for carriage. Its probably better to get them to make a cradle as well.

I don't know of anywhere that you can get one off the shelf.
