Hi. looking to replace or repair a type 1 ballcock valve.
on one side embossed in the brass is BS1212 (i understand what this is)

On the other it has what appears to be KX with a frame round it embossed on the side.

Anyone shed any light on what KX is? manufacturer maybe? if so who so i can maybe get one to match

Cheers
Steve

Why does it need to match, are you not changing it?
You will get a Pt 1 from any Plumbers merchant.
Ideally I would just like to replace the "wet" half inside the cistern while leaving the other half firmly attached to the cistern and covered in paint on the outside :) or even just replace the piston. added to the fact that it looks like a well made unit as its fixing/sealing cistern nuts are brass rather than the usual white plastic these days.

I am just trying to get an idea if that KX has any relevance other than a makers mark.

I think it is a make but not sure.
Buy a pt 1 ball tap washer and replace it. Unless there is another reason to change it.
If it is a plastic piston, the washer flicks out, if it is brass they unscrew.

Hi, basic question, any insight much appreciated. Looking to have an outdoor tap in my front porch fed from 15mm pex coming up from suspended floor. Pic 1 is inside porch, pex temporarily clipped to give an idea of pipe placement (ignore shoddy blockwork of booted cowboy builder!), Pic 2 is...
