Am I right in thinking this is an aav, never seen one looking like this one before but it is on a old megaflo unvented system mk2. The heating already has a standard aav behind but guessing this was added in at a later date. I should of taking a photo of the whole install but I failed to remember.

Yes aav and mini dirt separator

Thank you very much, how does the dirt separator work does it catch it at the bottom, as how are you supposed to clear it out?

Will probably have a mesh in it and you don’t it’s one of them

The lower velocity in the chamber eg it’s bigger than the supply pipework means dirt will sink to the bottom and just stay there its basically just an oversized aav

Our kitchen mixer tap has started dripping. Like so much of the plumbing in our almost new build bungalow, it is lacking! The plumber didn't install any isolating cocks in the H&C feed to the tap so how can I identify which of the valves is passing? Shut the whole H&C water system down?
