I see that metabo have released there new LIHd batteries with 6.2a, at a cost of £166 wonder if I should invest and get some batteries. What's the rest of the tool companies making?

9ah from milwaukee by the end of the year, 6 ah is top dog with most manufacturers now. 4ah or 5ah will be the best choice cost wise tho.

sometimes you have got to decide if the extra ah is worth the cost.

a 9ah 36v would be cool tho........

Found this thread looking for batteries too, actually invested in metabo already recently for a little bit cheaper - been working small wonders, actually!

What's the scene like now a couple months on with other manufacturers? Any improvements on these LiHD batteries? The Milwaukee ones looked promising.

i must say every metabo tool ive used has been excellent ive only got a metabo jigsaw and thats over 20 years old now

The big amp batteries aren't worth the extra cost, imho. 4amp is enough for most jobs, the extra amps cost mega bucks. And the chances are you'll have to buy a new machine before your investments returned.

I bought a standard metabo drill when I was 20, still working a treat when I need one, it is now approaching 37 years old, draper have sent me a couple of sets of carbons foc when I need them.
