So, had a call from a woman in a mobile.

Her bath taps were changed by someone & now the pressure has gone. The plumber has done a runner.

She has a heat only boiler to a tank with cold water above- little head of pressure.

The cold to bath is tank fed.

Would it be an idea to make the bath cold mains fed & then put a pump on the hot from the tank?

She wants to use a shower attachment also.

Any thoughts?

Thanks all.

I bet the taps have been changed to a mixer which requires high pressure.

If that is the case, the best solution is to go back to separate taps or find a dual flow mixer - common for sinks but not for baths.

Water storage in a mobile home is likely to be limited - be careful pumping it, you are likely to empty the tank very quickly.

I said exactly the same. She says she wants a pump!

If you can access the storage reasonably easily, then establish:

a) The actual capacity of the tank in litres (not the nominal capacity)
b) The flow-rate at which the ballvalve refills it in l/min
c) The flow-rate of even a modest pump draining it in l/min

a
------ = the number of minutes before her shiny new pump starts sucking air.
