Nice! Each side of the plier has a gripped face hence a pair of grips. Plus it's the use of English

Okay then "O clever one" why are footprints called footprints?
And why would you and all else say, "pass me the footprints" not "pass me a pair of footprints" as one would think?:)
"Pass me the footprints" is everyday plumber usage.

No it's" give me the footprints you pleb"

"NOW, not next week. Get off your phone"

Footprints is a brand name . They are grips essentially so as per my original post

I tend not to complain whatever my apprentices pass me.

I ask for a grip - I get a hammer...
I ask for a drill - I get a spanner.

Meet my apprentices......and yes they arent too hot on health and safety either .....

I could cope with whatever they hand me

Footprints.................the best universal grips ever made.

I once had a boy who called them footsteps lol

Man, not used footprints in ages, they were phenomenal aswell. I'm off to get a set/pair/whatever today :D

Thinking of this thread yesterday whilst using a pair of footies in the rain on a call out to change a pump in an outside boiler enclosure.

Thankfully I actually had a lovely young lady with me who had opened up the house, this never happens to me...... I had to drag the callout out......
