I have a vintage tank with a tapered brass fitting fixed in.
A new mating fitting is required.
The thread is 7/8" max with 26 tpi and it is tapered.

7/8" 26 is a standard British Standard Brass (BSB) thread, but tapered?
I can find no reference to BSB tapered.

Help?

Nearly all old BSP fittings are tapered thread most new ones are parallel as easier to manufacture. Is the fitting a bush to allow to Reduce to smaller fitting

I assume it was a blanking plug which had been drilled for a pipe to be sweated in. It is now damaged beyond repair.
