radiator valve that can't be opened.

Hi there,

I recently moved in a new house and there is a radiator that can't be opened.

There is no head on the valve and I can't opened it with a pair of pliers.

here is what the valve look like.

does it need a special head to be open like a TRV or does it happen that sometimes that valve get really stuck?

There is a lockshield on the other side which is opened. so it is why I don't understand.

The lockshield on the other side is fully oponed, but this valve can't move at all. it is like it is locked in place. It doesn't turn clockwise or anticlockwise. I was wandering it there was a special to open it.

I have tried this. It seems really stuck. does'nt move at all. I think I am have to change the valve. Anyway thanks for you help.

Are you using a spanner on the flats, rather than pliers on the round shaft? Sharp tap might free it, but don't overdo it!

You could try loosening the gland nut a little first, the the valve might turn. Tighten up gland nut afterwards.
