Discuss Rebuild of old taps - can I still get this part and what is it? in the Plumbing Jobs | The Job-board area at PlumbersForums.net
Does the flow of water run ok without that piece and not spray everywhere?
If so then do without it, otherwise recycle the tap as scrap brass and install a new one.
Not sure as not fitted yet. Is it an anti splash?
They are the original taps from 1975 so just rebuilding to match rest of house. The house is as it was when built and we have a 1970s style, so they look great in the original kitchen. Not thought about re chroming, but is an option. It's a diffuser / aerator.
Are you having the tap re-chromed?
May have a go, are they copper?Yes, basically just there to make the flow better.
You could probably make up one if you could be bothered, or perhaps be lucky to salvage something from an old tap
