Hi, I have a new boiler Ideal "Heat only" 24kw with a new Indirect unvented hot water cylinder and two expansion tanks. The plumber who fitted the system a few months ago told me how to re pressurise the system by opening two valve taps to introduce mains fed cold water to the system and increase the pressure if needed.

Rarely had to do this though, so guess all is ok.

I have it at around 1.4 bar is that around the correct pressure? Also, how would I decrease the pressure if I accidentally make it too high ?

Any advice appreciated, many thanks.

Yes fine

Easier way is saucepan and bleed a rad eg bleed a radiator into the saucepan and check after each emptying of the pan
