I removed an old shower hose, which was installed by previous home owner at least 12 years ago. Upon removal, the connection is like nothing I have ever seen and I am unable to find any replacement hose of similar connector type. btw: When I removed the hose , there was no loose rubber washer if this is of any help.

On the hose , there is what appears to be a narrow brass tube, which fits neatly into hole in the pipe elbow.

I have included some pictures.

I am now wondering if perhaps the hose washer assembly has broken off during the removal and "fused" to the pipe connector thread???

Have anyone got any advice? I have plugged it all back together for the time being.

Thanks

There will be an "O" ring seal inside the brass bush / sleeve within the elbow on the wall to seal around the spigot sticking out of the hose.
No rubber washer required.

And there is probably an "O" ring on the outside of the brass bush / sleeve to seal to the chrome elbow.
That brass part may pull out leaving you with a normal shower elbow in the wall.
