It’s a shock arrestor

What does a shock arrestor do on a boiler?

shock arrestor kit is specifically designed to combat the problem of the expansion of water in the cold supply pipe in combi boiler installations that are fitted in close proximity to a water meter.

Thanks for that info👍🙂.....Will it be ok to blank it off & still use boiler until a replacement one arrives next week?
Cheers,
Aleck

It will depend on how much pipe there is before a non return valve, without it you can blow apart fittings if there is only short run, hot water has to expand some where.

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks
