Hi!

I have a plastic wingnut joining the cistern to the toilet that is totally jammed and in an awkward position. i.e. I cant see it as the loo is close to a wall. Managed to get the other one off with a hack saw and brute force but I just cant get the purchase on this one with the angles available.

Is there a way to get this off that I am missing? (has been well soaked in WD40).

Thanks

Tony

do you have a wing nut key?
you can get them in toilet seats sets from wickes foc there about 3'' long.
or you can buy the yellow pro versiion from monument tools.
otherwise get a tube, grind a slot in it and use that.
its all about purchase angles

Thanks for all the ideas! I will be trying them now...

Part of the problem is the whole bolt turns and getting enough purchase on the head to apply brute force to the wingnut

He's trying to get the cistern off rather than the seat. A seat that can't be undone properly, smashing the hinge off is a great idea but not on this job.

Think he means the dome head inside the cistern

Hi guys. I'm trying to identify a toilet model before ordering a seat for a customer. I went to what used to be a Roca stockist (they no longer are) and one of the guys there reckoned it might be "The Gap". I went to the new stockist and the guy there disagreed it was "The Gap" and that he'd...

Hi, basic question, any insight much appreciated. Looking to have an outdoor tap in my front porch fed from 15mm pex coming up from suspended floor. Pic 1 is inside porch, pex temporarily clipped to give an idea of pipe placement (ignore shoddy blockwork of booted cowboy builder!), Pic 2 is...
