Does anyone know if the metal handle/pole that comes with the back spanner has a name if so what is it called and where can you get one from?

Would think it will be refered to as a bar, sorry that`s my only input.
Tension bar? Leverage Bar? Tommy bar?

Old screwdriver?
Or just buy a new set with either with more sizes or a cheapish set just for the bar

Length of silver steel from an engineering workshop will do it.

tommy bar, and there soft and bend like owt.

get sone re-bar to fit or weld a handle to it
