Hi,

First time posting here - we're dealing with a Vitodens 200 that was installed back in 2004. The "INSTALLER SETUP" menu is missing and there's no fault shown, but the fault light comes on. The batteries on the programmer are good and the dip switches are set right (they haven't changed in years).

Any other potential places to look? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

The installer set up menu only comes up once upon first installation - when you change the language from German and set the time et al.

If you want to get back to that stage you need to reset the boiler in coding level 2 - but that will reset the unit to its factory settings - most (not all, I don’t think solar settings are reset) of any site specific settings / adjustments that were made when the unit was commissioned will be lost.

I don't believe that to be true because we have been in the "D" -> "C" menu lots of times before. The diagnostics are all within that menu so it wouldn't make sense for it to be disabled after initial installation.

You need to be in the Coding level 2 menu, not the diagnostics menu.

Set parameter 00 to 1 - you have a choice of 10. That resets the boiler to factory settings, then you can start with language, time, installer details etc.

In reality you don't need it - once you are in coding level 2 all the adjustable parameters including coding level 1 can be accessed.

If you have a fault with no code displayed, go into diagnostics and look through the operation / fault code history - assuming that you have not reset the operational data.

The only area I have had problems is when a boiler has been configured for tandem operation. Changing that back to single unit operation was not straightforward.

Probably best you just call Viessman, they are very knowledgeable and responsive.

Correct, it’s the programming unit is the type that plugs into the front, which communicates with the internal board.

I don’t really want to factory reset the settings though if possible. Mainly just interested in running diagnostics. I assumed they were in that installer setup menu from my past experience.

Appreciate the responses though guys!

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
