My old Worcester combi has become noisey and seems to be labouring during this spell of cold weather. The CH pressure is normal, and has been good since I replaced the PRV in the summer.

It seems to have started since I turned the water temp setting up from about 1/2 to 3/4. The noise is a constant whine/come drone when ever the CH or DHW is used.

I have given the Grundfos pump a good thump, removed the screw and the impeller seems to turn OK by hand.

So far it keeps working, providing hot water and CH, but I wonder for how long?

With my limited knowledge it seems the only moving parts are the pump and the fan which might be the cause... but what do I know?

Any advice welcome... cheers.

regards,
boydell.

It is probably the fan . It might go on for ages but could stop at any time. [DLMURL="http://www.gas-spares.co.uk/Catalogue/WORCESTER/WORCESTER-COMBI-NG/230-Combi-range/230-RSF-FF-/FAN-240-WO8-716-120-567-0"]FAN 240 - Gas Appliance Spares (Preston) Ltd[/DLMURL]
