Done a job last year and wonder what the rest of you money grabbers would charge for the following for your labour

job was an office block and it included on first fix (all pipes tails were in rooms just needed re-new)

female toilets
male toilets
kitchen area which included first fix pipe work for electric water heaters
doc m pack
install water main high level 50 meters

second fix includes

female toilets
4xwc's plus wave flow sensors
4 x basins plus sensor taps and blenders

male toilets

1x wc plus wave flow sensor
2x basins plus sensor taps
1 x water less urinal

1x install doc m pack

kitchen includes

1 x sink
2x heatrae sadia water heaters

also heating

14x rads in iron tails within 2 meters on most

then obviously a commission

i know its only guess how much ,also dont forget possibility of call backs and time reading spec organising gear etc etc

so how much would you want to do a job like this???

Plymouth's not too bad if you are in the right market Joe. I'm in Plymouth, just a one man band, but work on the basis of £200 a day & I'm booked up well into September. I've always tried to steer clear of the cut throat bottom end of the market & most of my work is in the suburbs of Plympton, Plymstock, Ivybridge & Saltash where they seem happy to pay that.
I wouldn't fancy getting any bigger though & having to chase work, thats when you can't be too choosy.

I have just put my price up from £150 to £200, Had loads of quotes but not turning into work, Might go back down, but want to stick to my guns for a little bit longer, Priced a job at £300 a day the other day for a recommended customer and ended up getting it at £250, so it really is the hardest part of the job, valuing yourself and the work you do correctly!!

how long you been trading for??

How much are yous getting for straight boiler swaps ?

firms are doing valliants 7 year guarantee for under £1200, the money is c.ap now

I know this is off topic a great deal, but forgive me for asking, are there any plumbs local to me, plymouth, that would let me shadow them so i can complete my foundation gas course, as i need to build up a portfolio of it, dont want paying, as i consider it a huge favour to me, and i will even supply donuts!

I digress, if you're SE you have to charge a premium so as not to devalue the trade!

You are doing good making £250 these days on a straight swap, £350 to £400 with a flush round here.

its depressing...

ive just priced a yplan conversion to Combi, part carcass, replace 3 rads an repipe into wall...

first fix a mixer, £800 with me supplying pipe an fittings, be lucky to get it

how do you justify that? my customers always ask how many days it will take and then point out how much I am charging a day, do you give a written estimate? do you break it down? how do I tell them that that's the price, end of?

It's down to what type of customers you have really ! Some take the price at its other never come back as they are after the chipset possible almost free if you like !
