Morning all,

I am just about to begin doing more installs of combi boilers, I am gas safe but just never really done a lot of installs due to being busy with general plumbing and bathrooms. One question that i have is, when checking working pressure on a boiler with a zero governor what sort of parameters are you looking for, are we talking 2mb of usage at maximum rate? I know obviously every boiler is different but i would like to know more about zero governors and how they operate so that i have a better understanding of what to look for.

Also, I know that anyone can put an analyser into a flue and take note of the readings but can someone also give a decent explanation. We all know that the ratio of say 0.0002 and 8.8% is good but can someone with far more experience here educate me a bit? I think we can all agree that the education you get from your college apprenticeship all those years ago is not the finest and the career is what you make of it with wanting to better yourself and educate yourself so please excuse my ignorance with regards this but I have just never had the time to properly look into this and educate myself on the matter better.

Let me know if I need to go to another section of the forum to discuss this better as I can put in my gas safe no. etc

Thanks in advance

Mi’s is a good place to start. 1mbar drop across the whole installation from memory, but in the mi’s it will give you what the WP should be at, and also what the FGA results should be and the tolerances. Also factor in case/cover on and case/cover off.
