Hi all,

I have a few of these to fit next week.

What's the best way to do the vent pipe? Spec says copper pipe via tundish , so should the tundish be copper?.

Original plan as a Mc Alpine tundish and overflow pipe.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Same as an unvented. Copper to tundish then copper out. One size up in outlet? Is this in the instructions?

Check with Zip but as per mi, don't they supply a tundish?

Thanks,

I don't think that they supply a tundish. It states pipe in 15mm copper, but white speedfit would look neater and don't think would be an issue (as in melt) given the very small capacity of the heater?

Could he be talking about the Zip undersink unit?

Got two of those to move myself. From one office kitchen to another.

I have only ever fitted one before and that was a replacement, that one was the same as the one you show. But given that it can discharge very hot water perhaps not the best solution.

Like you say a tundish and a copper pipe would not look good, the cold supply will be in white speedfit.

My thoughts ( please bear in mind the date/time as in 11 pm on a Saturday ) are to run the vent in 15mm speedfit and change the trap for a WM half trap and connect to that.

Common sense tells me that a few litres of hot water will not melt the speedfit pipe and that a tundish isn't necessary as I will soon be apparent that he heater has discharged as office wallers will be drinking cold tea and b) sink will fill up if waste s blocked.

Its a Zip hydroboil like the one in the pic. It makes hot water for tea
