Can't read what you've posted, there's an advert blocking your post...

Used to use this site all the time , ive never seen ads like this , give dark net a run for its money, Someone needs to fix there broken site , this place used to be choka block with banter n great characters, it's a real shame to see this ,

It seems to depend on the browser. With Safari on my old Mac (13.1.2) three posts on this page have adverts and they don't obscure the text. On my new Mac (Safari 15.2) and iPad (iOS 15.2) every post has an advert, normally the same one, that covers the text and renders the site unusable.

Banter is now frowned upon as being unprofessional kris and the only real characters left are the 25 needed to make a post. :)

Since I last posted it's better for me. Well, i say better.... There's still a tsunami of ads, but they're not in the way now. Before, they literally covered people's posts in threads making it impossible to read them. So at least that's resolved.

As for those if you using adblockers, that's interesting to hear. When I enable mine on the site I get the message to unblock. If I continue to use it the text in threads goes extremely faint. No adverts, but can barely read the text.

Hope it doesn't turn people away from the forum because it has been a great resource and help for me.

Cheers

This forum is almost unusable on a phone, marginal on a tablet.

If you enable an ad-blocker, you get a message telling you to disable it.

If you disable it, you're bombarded with (repetitive) inline adverts; which at least you can scroll past, and overlay adverts which take up half the screen, with a tiny close/hide button which is almost impossible to click without clicking on the advert link itself.

I'm all for sites needing to support themselves, but this OTT approach seems counterproductive and more likely to drive traffic away.

As a specific example, at the moment, I'm seeing 15 copies of the same advert for 'PSW Trade Suppliers Ltd' (in Warrington and I'm in Devon!) distributed over this page. I'm fairly sure this must be a bug in the forum software.

Hi, I seemed to have a blockage in kitchen sink. A plumber came and cleared all the pipework that is visible inside my home (there was debris and pebbles!) We saw that the pipe that takes water down the gutter was visibly full to the top. He said he will return with a coil to push through...

Every two weeks or so I have to go and top up the system because the hot taps are running cold. Boiler display is flashing 0.6 bar and I fill up to 1.3. I've had an engineer look inside the boiler and he can't see anything wrong. I've checked the pipes all over the house and cannot see any...
