British standards online for free viewing

go online and visit your local libary website

for me its essex libary website

type in your libary card number, then it takes you to the BSI website and you search for one you want ie "bs 5440 2008"
and thats it.

Looks like your library service is more up to date than ours. Can't seem to find that facility for Sussex.

Yea! Up and running in Liverpool. But can only print 10% of document content. That is fine.

Thought I would direct attention to this, I tried my local library and sure enough found all the British Standards I could wish for, very handy as a student.

Is this still free to view or do you have to pay now as i can't find the section where it lets you view for free?

Err! I tried about a year ago and found there were BS free but only obscure ones about communities. Its not wrong to say they are free its just that the ones that are free do not seem much use.

I have a subscription to the standards via the Essex library and all the gas standards I've wanted have been in the subscription. The only standard not in the subscription that I've wanted was 7671 (17th ed wiring regs).

With GSRs regs, you can't download them but can print them. With the library's version, I can download them but not print them. I prefer the library's method cos I can carry them on my phone or iPad.
