BSP Threaded right angles orientation.

I have a fair degree of experience with 15/22/28 mm fittings in both compression & solder but I am now fitting an UFH manifold which has flow and return presented in 1" BSP fittings. All fine, I have various of these fittings that convert to 22mm compression. All would be lovely if it wasn't for the fact that one of them is a right angle fitting ( the hot flow enters from the bottom of the mixing valve whilst the return exits on the horizontal. Tightening this right angle 1" to 22mm fitting ends up with the right angle pointing in completely the opposite direction from which I want it to go. I could use lots of PTFE tape or boss white or such, but I was hoping there is a actually a procedure for such a situation, would for instance a fibre washer correct for this by being a half turn pitch or does one just tape and adjust amd tape and adjust till it all comes good?

Agree with the loctite55 advice if not can you not use a straight male iron to copper and a street elbow...regards Turnpinunk:

The same thing happens on many situations when tightening in a male bend - like on top of a cylinder. If there are at least 4 or 5 threads on the female & male fittings, then ordinary ptfe tape at the correct amount will seal the fitting no problem, even if it can't be fully turned. Enough tape to make the fitting feel tight to turn with a spanner & some Jet Lube sealant over the tape first.
I tend to tighten a male bend on without any jointing to see what angle it tightens to. That way I know if I need to add extra ptfe tape to the shoulder of the fitting. Locktite 55 seems the way to do it though.
