I fitted a boiler for a friend in 2004 (Ideal Classic) in the loft. (I am Gas Safe Reg !). He is currently selling the house, and has had a request to provide an installation certificate.
I phoned the agents & explained that there was no requirement for notification then.
He checked with their "lawyer", and said sorry its the Building Regs that they required.
I suggested a gas safety certificate be done, but he said "No we need the Building Regs certificate".

Anybody any idea what he means, because he couldn't clarify the situation.

Cheers

Paul

Lawyers are fools i fitted a new boiler for my neighbourghs dad couple years back, out of warrenty now but hes asking about a imdennity policy on it err no you buy the house you take the resposability of running it

They just want the certificate the customer gets when you register the install with gas safe. Phone them see where you stand.....wether you can register the install niw.

I would get a napkin and write the following

Boiler:
Installed:
Date:

See if the lawyers want that. If they don't. Make them stipulate or give an example of that they want

give the lawyer the phone number to building control, tell him once he understand he/she is wrong you will invoice them for you time. ;)
