Sharp Point

Hi guys, just a quick un. Has the regs changed for zoning of levels? I’m doing some some new builds and the architect has said that all houses regardless of floor area has to be zoned... ie upstairs/ downstairs. Anybody heard this?

Thanks

Yes or anything over 150m2 foot print (open room)

I’m aware of the over 150m2, these houses are poxy 2 up 2 down and about 50m2 footprint

Thanks

Every home must be divided into at least two heating zones, using a thermostat controlling a motorised valve.
If the house is smaller (less than 150m2), then these can be controlled by the same timer.
If the house is larger (more than 150m2), then each zone must be controlled by its own timer.
Every radiator should be fitted with a radiator thermostat, unless it is the reference radiator for a thermostat
(i.e. the radiator where the room thermostat is fitted).

Hi they used to say as a last resort you could discharge the D2 pipework at high level and turn it back to the wall. Similar to a combi boiler. I have just looked back through the regs this seems to have changed and it isn't mentioned now. It now mentions if at high level it should be discharged...

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...
