Quick question for you lads that have had any similar experiences. Working on a shop this morning and have had to shut main off in street due to a leaking stopcock and it has blown outside. There is a small fountain of gushing water outside the shop now! Do water board charge to repair this as I had no choice but to shut it off.

This happened to me once the plastic valve snapped. I rang the the water board and they turned out in about an hour - no charge as the stopcock is theirs

Cheers lads will have to phone them flooding outside. Ha ha

i've wondered about this. so if you're not allowed to touch them and you need to change stopcock inside (let's say it's leaking so can't be frozen) is their preferred proceedure really to arrange for them to arrange to come along, turn off the water outside, wait while the plumber does the job and then to turn it back on? i'm presuming they'd charge for that.

I've always just gone outside and turned them off myself!

IS IT POSSIBLE TO ADJUST THIS MIXER UNIT? WE HAVE TO HAVE IT TURNED ALMOST FULLY ANTI CLOCKWISE TO GET HOT WATEROUT. THE FRONT PLATE WITH MIRA ON IT PRISES OFF AND INSIDE THERE ARE SOME PLASTIC BITS AND A SMALL CROSS-HEAD SCREW IN THE MIDDLE. THANKS
