Just a quick one;

When filling out the benchmark when installing a boiler, when you use the manufacturers app does that mean you don’t have to fill the one in on the actual paper manual?

Also, when installing a gas hob I know you don’t have to fill in a benchmark but is it always best to complete a ‘declaration of works’ form?

Thanksssssss

No always need to do the benchmark

And yes also I would fill in one eg working pressures and load etc

Vaillant sent me a copy of the one I done online via email. I was wondering if they send it to the customer too? It seems pointless to fill it out online and in the manual.

The hob I recently connected didn’t come with a benchmark, when I checked online it says you don’t have to. When you say fill one in, do you mean that’s the info required on the declaration of works form?

How does a repair guy know the base line figures when he goes and services it 4 years later and the customer doesn't hand him anything etc

Also some manufacturers won't repair it without it filled in

I would fill out a service / llgsc sheet then least you can put all your info and base settings on it

My guess is that they would send the copy they emailed to me to the customer too?

The hob is notifyable to gas safe.

if you give vaillant or glowworm the customers email when registering they send it to them. i also think they mail it out. you can always print it out. but its a failsafe if you fill the book in

Always fill out the Benchmark. For hobs/cookers I fill out a maintenance sheet and just state new installation. That way you’ve documented your install and the figures.

Flueless hobs and cookers are not notifiable mate. @Harvest Fields

It’s a voluntary process mate through a declaration of work. But I do it all the time. I know they are not notifiable to building control.

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...

I have an ideal vogue max S18 boiler and I’m considering fitting auto balancing TRVs, my question relates to the boilers pump. I see a boiler pump menu for either 70% or 100%, so, is the pump set at either one of two fixed speed percentages or does the pump actually vary speed, (modulate)...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
