Thats a shame, I read it was going to adminstration about a month ago i take most of the good engineers would of got the heads up and left the sinking ship.

If Connaughts does go under, doesn't that make loads of the independent plumbers and electricians busier?

This is a big topic on tilersforums too. I don't think there will be much hope now it's in the media. Can't imagine them getting much credit given to them, or many more contracts, being 220mil in debt and employing 10k staff or subbies they wont be able to pay now.

Sorry to see another big firm go.

and a lot of jobs connaught going will effect all of us you will have a lot of people considering self employment

Hmmm - BBC 10pm news headline reckons it's "on the verge of collapse"

I'll offer my services to Plymouth council as they said theyll be offering contracts to other people to get work done, every cloud has a silver lining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

does it mean all maintenance workers across the uk will lose there jobs
if connaught go bust

can you tell me if connaught go into adminastration,
would that effect maintenance workers who are employees of connaught

It will affect everyone who works for them. Directly or indirectly.
The contracts are too big for it just to stop so some other mob will probably come in renegotiate and take over the best bits hopefully saving some jobs.
As usual the subbies will be hit worst. With the debt levels they are talking about they will get nothing back.
The banks and administrators take the lot.
