Hi All,

This is a rare visit to your forum for me as I try to avoid plumbing and get the pro's in however, even I can change a tap washer right? Well, apparently not!

I removed the cap, undid the cross head screw and do you think the tap/knob would come off? Not on your life! I've tried a squirt of WD40 but don't expect that to work, so is there a decent product out there that will loosen the calcification that has formed on the splines?

I'd be grateful for any tips as I'd rather not have to replace the whole tap. Iin fact it'll probably be the pair as I doubt I'll find a single tap to match.

Regards,

Richard.
