Hi there. I have a Worcester Greenstar Heatslave (Oil)
I had no hot water or heating and it was found to be the pump. When they took the pump off it was full of grease. They replaced the pump and one week later it happened again and then again 2 weeks after that. They said it was a dirty system and that I should have it hot flushed etc. I have taken a sample of water and it looks a little greyish due to the inhibitor that was added but there are no particles of dirt in the water. I am having the system flushed as we speak but I feel that this is not the problem. Has anyone got any ideas as to why this keeps recurring. The boiler was fitted 1yr ago and was flushed etc when it was fitted.
Thanks all
Laura

Yes it is Worcester changing the pumps. I had a bit of an argument with one of the boiler engineers. When he took the pump of and took it out of its housing he said to me, Look how dirty that is, your system is dirty. I asked if fitting a magniclean to the system would help. He said they are good but it won't help my problem just after him saying my problem was a dirty system. I then said but that's not dirt, that's grease. He said my system was really dirty and again showed me the pump. I then said so what your saying is my system is pumping grease round it to which I never got a reply. He then said they wont be back to fix any more pumps unless the system gets flushed which I have had done today. It was flushed three times. Each time we took a sample of water and stuck kitchen roll into show any dirt particles but there is nothing showing on the kitchen roll.
