hey guys just looking for some advice, im a new company operating as a sole trader im getting work in, mainly maintenace jobs but i would like to get in with a builder doing new builds, first and second fix, as im not that keen on driving from house to house unblocking toilets and changing rad valves although it is paying the bills so i cant grumble. just wondering if anyone can give advice on how to get this kind of work, was thinking bout writing a letter to local builders but dont want to seem desperate, what do you think?????

It can't hurt and who cares if you look desperate. Pride wont put food on the table.

When i'm looking for work every possible angle will be covered, even if it means writing to building firms you never know where an opportunity may arise. If you don't ask you don't get.

Do your research first , need to know who pays first . last thing you want is to get stung .
Also they wont know who the hell you are and if your any good or not ,just pick up the web site email them and ask to price some work even if its just a small job .

Look at the local paper, ours has planning applications in everyweek. Worth getting in touch with people planning extensions, new builds etc.
