Hey guys and gals,
Need some advice, I have a client that has ordered a new toilet and wants me to fit it for them....
The only problem is, that the waste pipe comes in from the side, and is the old 4 1/2 inch pipe which I cannot get around, and the toilet pan they have bought will only a 5 inch gap between the wall, and the back recess of the toilet pan for me to work around, there bathroom is tiled, and cannot buy new tiles, so cannot build pipe into wall.
Have looked at the flexible waste pipes. Are these a good idea or not, or has anyone another suggestion I may use. The only problem I see is that the pipe diameter is not very wide so cannot flush the biggest of items if you know what I mean.....I was then gonna cover the flexible pipe with larger diameter to cover the flexible to tidy is up...
Any suggestions would be greatly received.:D

Cheers

The flexi's in this situation are fine as long as they have not been crushed/kinked they also need to be no dips in the flexi waste. :)

About the tiling scenario...

If the tiles are no longer made you could build a contrast "feature" panel

http://www.*********.com/jpgs/toilet.jpg

I did this with this toiler. The stack needed to run out at the back of the toilet, turn right and the turn right again so the bends were at 180 deg

I fitted the toilet to the pipe and then built a frame around it. Behind the toilet the tiles are black. Hiding the soil stack.

But can you see the tiles stick out under the toilet roll? I also packed out the wall to hide the stack and then dropped feature niches into the wall to recover some of the space lost. That way no pipes on show.

The back of the tile supporting the loo roll holder is actually the main wall of the room.

Thanks Guys,
The tiling behind the toilet is a great idea, not sure wether the client will be up for this but will suggest it, what I was more thinking of, was there any alternative to flexi, are there some products out there that are thinner than normal size toilet waste....? haven't found any yet myself, but granted, i haven't tried any of the specialists yet...
