dear all,

a customer is asking for a quote for installing a new boiler, the new boiler will be in kitchen which is about 10 meters away from gas meter, i had a look, the best route is to bury the gas pipe under drive way, but i really dont have this kind of experience

anyone has done this before and share some experience please!

really appreciate this!

Never done it myself 'bluesky' but there are regulations to adhere to regards depth of pipe etc... Have you got any current info on the subject?

Here it is:

From current BS 6891:2005
Installation of low pressure gas pipework of up to 35 mm (R1 1/4)in domestic premises (2nd family gas). Specification

in the second picture, it says the underground pipe should be 'plastic wrapped', what does this mean?

As it says - 'plastic wrapped' copper, you can get it from the merchant.

If you have any 'exposed' joints or sections you can wrap them in denso or just put normal copper pipe inside plastic waste pipe and seal the ends

Once you have done your bit make sure that the builder avoids flinty infill and puts the right thickness of concrete over. Test for tightness before wrapping or covering any joints.
