Hi folks,

I'm weighing up the cost of relocating 5 radiators in a 3 bed semi-detached house. Presently, for each room, the radiators are on walls that are either adjacent or opposite to the window. The house does have double-glazing, but even so, conventional placement would have these radiators underneath windows. Currently, there are sofas and other bits of furniture sitting up against the radiators, which isn't ideal. Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to relocate the radiators please?

Thanks.

Depends how much prep work has been done.

Floor boards need to be up from current to new location.

With boards up, there’s still a bit to do. System will need to be drained, joists will need to be notched, hang rads, run pipework, fill/balance system.

1 day is a push, so I’d book it for 2 days or potentially 3 if I’ve got to get all the boards up.

If your gonna spend on 2/3 days labour and the rads are old, I’d get new ones and cakes.

If the system is vented, I’d also look to seal it.

I don’t estimate prices but there’s a few hundred in materials and whatever 2 or 3 days labour costs you.
