Hi All

This is my first post.
Please see attached to this post some pics of the set-up of my boiler.

The pressure has dropped to 0.8bar and I was trying to top up the system by opening the two taps connected to the silver flexi pipe but that didnt work.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Please help.

Thanks
Eug

Have you tried opening the stop taps either side of the flexi taps as well ?

Hi Shaun

Yep...I tried opening both taps and the little stop valve in the middle and it didnt work.

so just to confirm you have opened the 2 black lever valves and also the 2 brass stop taps

if yes you will need a heating eng out to have a look, sorry to say

Hi Shaun

Only one black lever is a stop valve, the other seems to be a check valve. So I opened bot taps and the one black lever stop valve.

I was hoping not to get an ENG out but I can see your point.

Thanks....

you need to open both black taps the check valve bit is there to stop water from the heating going back into the mains

There are two black stop valves. One is a small one with the handle only sticking out one side of the spindle (on the horizontal pipe), the other is a butterfly type handle that sticks out both sides of the spindle (up on the wall).

Thank you all for your information, much appreciated
I have now topped up the system.I dont know why i thought the butterfly valve was just a non return valve....
