Kev the gas

I removed an Ideal Isar this morning, there was a stand off bracket installed. This is what I found when the boiler was removed from the frame.

there were no sighs of distress inside the boiler that I could see, any ideas is it normal?

If the boiler itself is fine then don't worry! Thats just a bit of heat marks and corrosion.

very likely that suggestion first one probably killed itself
That would be my guess as the marks look like the ones I have seen when the hex has melted itself and exposed the outer case to the burner.

That thought had come to mind, rental property so no real history. It is on a new estate which is full of them.
I now refuse to work on them for new customers.

Anyone noticed the cooker hood ducting ? Was 60mm away from the flue terminal

Good call, the expansion vessel was full of water but no signs of leakage
