Hi,

We have been having issues with heating and hot water in our house. We have a Potterton Performa 28 boiler. Hot water hasn't been consistently hot through the taps and heating has only been hot upstairs or downstairs but not at the same time. After a service we were advised to change the pump and recently the pump warning light had been coming on. We changed the pump ourselves to save some money, thought that it had fixed the problem but still having issues.

A plumber came round and changed 2 diaphrams and cleaned out the heat exchanger, then suggesting that we should buy a new one and replace. He left and now the problems are back to a flashing pump warning light. Pressure is about 1.5, was about 2 I think and now we have no heating or hot water, it's not firing.

We're not really sure what to do next as we've spent a lot on plumbers and parts recently.

Many thanks and appreciated if you can help.

If it's a combi boiler you shouldn't be doing anything yourself on it. Illegal!!!!

I'd try potterton see if they do a fixed price repair. Youve been recommended a new boiler, that may be the economical way to solve it

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
