I use heldite. Messy but good.
Thanks for the replys. I have heldite but was looking for something a bit easier to work with.
Will give it a go and see how we go...
Anyone heard of oil resistant PTFE tape? If so where can I get some
Are you sure that it exists?
PTFE is resistant to oil anyhow!
It is a myth that oil can damage it. I think people assume PTFE is plastic tape, - it isn't.
Ignore the fact that PTFE tape goes slightly transparent when coated in kerosine. I have been using PTFE for last 40 plus years on oil and it will still be good as new on jobs I return to.
Do you ever use stag?
part B?Good old part b
part B?
Oh yeah!Stag thick part b thin part a
Oh yeah!
Also stinks and makes me look like i've been shot
Yes, I did use Stag sometimes, or similar Redex (or whatever it is called). But generally just needs right amount of PTFE tape on threads and sometimes smear of Heldite on oil fittings.Do you ever use stag?
