I notice both my posts on SimonG’s thread have been deleted. Other members posts also removed and thread has been also locked down.
That is absolutely fine with me if the thread or my posts had been breaking any rules, however what I posted in the thread was that the adverts are annoying and I am finding the revamped forum not straightforward to use.

I have been notified with this -

“Your post in the thread Sick Of All These Adverts was deleted.
Reason : Can’t read. Mustn’t be able to read.

!!!!
Well never have had that criticism made against me before! Maybe others got the same generic message?

I am well aware that this revamped forum is still in progress, but surely it can be posted on here our views on how we find it currently, without censorship or rude and silly alleged reasons for deleting posts?
Hope everyone here is capable of reading? :)

I do appreciate Dan & Lou's hard work, but taking out their frustration on the very people whose expertise is contributing to making this site a success seems pretty counter intuitive.

Perhaps if Dan/Lou were to invest in sharing their vision with people, then perhaps they may have more 'buy-in' from everyday folk and buy themselves more time/less comments to respond to...

Just a thought ;)

Totally agree Dave. Just a little respect is needed all around.
Just occurred to me if I had replied to a new member with similar wording -with me implying that they were of a low education or ability, I bet that would go against forum rules.

On the basis that I have zero idea what rules actually exist, as you quite rightly say, one would start with an element of respect & empathy in all cases ;)

I also really don’t bother thinking about the forum rules due to it mostly being common sense and respect for others. The problem is the truth is pushed away and posts deleted and then nonsense reasons given for the deletion.

Think Dan has tried to explain what n why in a couple of different threads and maybe he is frustrated with it all, that said to read "like it or do one" in one post does not set a good example of being friendly.
Best, you have been around long enough to know what happens to posts decreed as being a nuisance.

Fair enough RPM, I have noticed that some of the posts do show frustration.
A little more diplomacy and respect is needed in some of the wording given out to members on here.
Am sure it can then be reciprocated.
I better leave it at that point.

Yeah he has tried to explain. If anyone has any questions or comments about the upgrade please PM me not Dan, as he's busy fixing stuff. We live in the same house but he's hardly spoke for weeks as he's been working on the forums. Apologies if any comments have offended. It is very frustrating upgrading. I'll close this thread now and like I say, please PM me I'll be happy to help answer you.
