hi guys, i am starting up my business and i am stuck for names, i just cant think of anything original and eye catching!! does anyone have any ideas? cheers guys

I've named mine after the local river. Have you a lake, river, aquatic park or similar water feature that your natives know about?

Many plumbers use their initials (e.g PJS Plumbing if they're called Philip James Smith).

Have you thought of a logo or colours or stuff like that? Maybe a Google search for those items might produce something that gives the idea. For example if you're looking for pictures of taps, you might find a photo called Copper Tap or a photo called The Blue Snowman might give you a spark for calling yourself The Blue Pipeman.

Something will come to you - I was lucky as my wife thought of mine and I couldn't think of anything better (and still haven't since).

It's tricky. My business name has just become available as a Ltd name. So I'm hoping I can get round to sorting it out. But it's time consuming. Starting from scratch is even worse.

or New Age Plumbing,have to do get your lpg ticket though,as may get a lot of camp site work,be rushed off your feet during solstice though

Or go for the family plumber image like

'mum's own' plumbing or 'Aunt Bessies' Plumbing

Just pick a name relating to you and the main thing is make sure it is linked to reliability,punctuality and trustworthiness .....and cups of tea with chocy digestive bickies !!!!

A teacher from the training centre I went to recommeded against going for just your name. Or Smith & Sons etc.. Because they're not memorable. And to a point I think he may be right. Half the battle is just being remembered.

You ever noticed how you see an advert and it irritates you. And you think, 'Stupid advert, annoying.'

But the next time you're faced with two products that you've nothing to choose between them and one of them was from that advert. Well, you don't remember how it annoyed you. You just know that you've heard of it. It gets logged under 'vague credibility.' And that's the one you go for. It's that simple.
