Anyone know exactly what the new laws are regarding scrap. Im hearing that we wont be able to weigh in at all after next week.

So how does this work?
Let's say your doing a job in Nottingham and have always take your scrap back to your local scrap dealer, so in my hypothetical case, Coventry.
Do you have to keep records of where the scrap came from and are you allowed to take scrap from one borough or Council and sell to another scrap dealer in another borough or Council.Or would that require separate licences to do so?

I took a load this week, all be it same county, and on the new paperwork they issue is a space for the waste carriers license number. But I think the waste carriers license is individual specific.

Its not the waste carriers license its something totally new. From what i have heard we wont be able to take scrap in at all. I will look further into this and see what i can find out.

Can't find anything online. There's one or two "new scrap metal laws" for the 1st October, and 1st December online for various councils, but just received 404 errors from respective webpages.

They didn't say anything when I was there. With the last lot of changes they had big posters up and the lads were telling everybody about it as well.

I friggin hope not.I've got an old 1930's copper back boiler that's to come out when the wood burner goes in.
Was hoping to recoup some of the money spent on the woodburner by selling the very heavy backburner to scrap.

It's only for scrap dealers, one per council. I was talking to the guy that takes my boilers and rads away the other day.
