Trying to source a Ranco K36 L1016 thermostat for an old Ideal boiler or any compatible alternatives. Any help would be appreciated.

Most old boilers used on/off control so most thermostats are interchangeable. Modern boilers may use modulating thermostats, Opentherm may work with many boilers, but some will need a special type to work with their ebus.

It’s a basic bi metallic so I thought they’re mostly the same apart from their physical dimensions and the width of the temperature probe. The K36 L1014 looks very similar (Screwfix), would this be compatible replacement?

The L1016 has a capillary tube 48" long apparently. I don't know what the difference between L1016 and L1014 is, but it could relate to temperature or capillary length. Worth checking the L1014 is long enough to fit!

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...
