Hello, I'm a DYI'er and I've recently installed 2 gravity water tanks at my residence. Both the tanks have the same inlet and outlet both connected to each other via a "Tee" connection.

I'm having issue with the tank overflowing because of reverse water flow though the outlets.

Since one tank is at a higher position than the other, the higher tanks outlet pushes water from it to the lower tanks outlet hence filling up the tank more than required hence the tank overflows.

Since both the outlets are connected, the outlet from the higher tank goes straight down and has a Tee connected to it vertically. The other end of the Tee goes to the other tanks outlet and the other end goes to the inlet of the house.

So when the tank on the higher position starts filling up, it let's the water flow straight from the outlet to the outlet of the lower tank and because of this, both the tanks constantly keeps filling the tank with water non stop.

What I want to ask is, is there a way for both tanks to fill up and stop while letting both the outlets supply water to the house at the same time?

I would appreciate it if anyone could help me out.

I've attached a vivid drawing as to what I mean.

PS. Excuse my cartoonish drawing.

No sorry if your combining two cwsc tanks they need to be on the same level
